Alert on the output, not the process.

If the digest is the product, count digests sent per day and alert when the count drops below a floor. Process monitoring tells you a thing executed. Output monitoring tells you a customer received something. They fail in different ways - I have had a job run perfectly every night while a mail provider silently dropped everything to one domain.

I did the soft version first - unfollowed, kept the account, told myself I was being reasonable - and lasted three weeks before I was looking at her friends' accounts instead, which is somehow worse. Then I deleted the app off my phone for a month and left it on the laptop. Removing the thing that gets picked up at 11pm did more than any amount of deciding not to look.

Ran it. March cohort is at 61% and basically flat since m2, April 66% at m3, May 70% at m2. So the shape is exactly the first case you described - a big month-1 drop then it holds. That is much less scary than the blended number felt.

Mention it by name at your next appointment. It is taken seriously and it can change what gets suggested.
