Is shooting film still worth it once you price out development and scanning? Film

I inherited a working 35mm body with a 50mm lens, so the camera cost me nothing, which is the only reason I am considering this. Local lab is charging about GBP 12 a roll for develop and scan and a roll of colour film…

Batch is perfectly good but ugly, can I melt it back down or is rebatching a different animal?
