What worked for me: a hard 25 minute timer. When it goes off I write down, in words, what I have tried and where it broke, then I move to the next problem. Coming back the next morning, roughly half of them cracked in under ten minutes. Sleep does something to these that grinding does not.

One good mic beats a bundle of three every time, particularly for acoustic guitar and voice where you are only ever recording one thing at a time. The bundle mics exist to make the box feel like value and the second and third of them will sit in a drawer forever. If you can stretch, the thing that surprised me most was how much a proper stand and a shock mount changed the takes, because a wobbly stand means you cannot place the mic precisely and placement is most of the sound on an acoustic guitar.

Agreed, with one caveat: mixing entirely on headphones takes some learning and your first few mixes will be off in the low mids. Reference other records constantly.

Mildly against the mood here. If you get through 200ml in a year you are not applying enough, and that is a far bigger problem than whether this bottle degraded. A proper face and neck application is roughly the length of two fingers, and full body is around a shot glass. At that rate a 200ml bottle is a couple of weeks of a beach holiday, not a season.

That is the right call and they will not think you are wasting their time. Take a photo of the bouquet if you still can, since identifying which lily it was matters to them.

Careful with the confident advice about the 100ml rule, because it is genuinely not uniform any more. Some airports with newer scanners allow containers up to two litres and some have gone back and forth on it within the same year. Check the rules for your departure airport and your connection separately, and if in doubt plan for 100ml because that is still the common case.

Whatever you choose, stop making full muslins in cheap calico. Cheap calico behaves nothing like the fabric you will use, so you are fitting a garment that will never exist. Make the bodice only, in something with a similar weight and drape to your intended fabric, and you will learn more in one afternoon than in four muslins.

Same discovery here about a decade too late. A cheap vacuum jug is the best press accessory there is.

Therapy was what did it for me and it took about eight months, mostly spent on things that had nothing to do with dating. Read the whole instruction sheet before cutting and mark the two or three steps where the garment stops being adjustable. Those are your checkpoints and you try it on at each one. Nothing else about the order matters much.

Practical thing that is easy to miss: are your emails landing in a promotions tab or being quietly filtered? A 45 percent open rate is healthy, so probably not, but tracking pixels themselves can trip filters and also inflate opens because scanners fire them. I would not fully trust the open number.

This is the actual answer for anyone buying from a roaster on a subscription. Costs nothing and removes the problem entirely.

For your actual list I would say it is a downgrade. Chilli and stew want browning, reduction and evaporation, and a sealed bag gives you none of those - you end up searing separately, straining liquid off and reducing it in a pan anyway, which is three washing up items for the same bowl of food. Buy it when you want a specific steak or a batch of chicken, not to replace a pot that already works.

And the discipline part is worth practising as a skill, not just a workaround. Consistent distance is most of what makes a take sound professional.

Point the rejection at the problem. A cardioid mic hears least from directly behind it, so if your worst surface is the window, put the back of the microphone towards the window and sing with your back to something soft. I rearranged nothing except the direction I was facing and the difference was more than any purchase I have made. It takes ten minutes to try four orientations and record the same eight bars in each.

If you want it properly clean, pour the finished press through a paper filter into a carafe. It costs you 40 seconds, strips the silt entirely and takes some of the body with it. Whether that trade is good depends on why you like a press in the first place.

Points question is a good catch, I have about 40000 sitting there. Moving them first.

That is uncomfortably close to my situation. The credit is the only thing making the maths work and I keep not using it.

No mortgage plans, but that is a useful flag for people reading later.

A cheat that costs nothing: cap a corner of the gravel with a handful of used substrate or squeezed filter gunk from an established tank if anyone locally will give you some. It seeds bacteria and adds organics to the gravel bed, which crypts genuinely respond to.
