I spent a year sharpening everything at whatever felt right and wondering why my results varied. What fixed it was not learning the correct angle, it was marking the existing bevel with a permanent marker before I started and looking at where the marker was coming off. If it is only coming off the shoulder, I am too shallow. Only at the very edge, too steep. That one trick told me more about my own hands than any number did.

It works because ears fatigue in the presence range first. Cheating, but effective cheating.
12 minutes each obviously doesn't scale, which I now understand is the entire point at this stage.
The 'their 15 minutes costs more than three months of the product' framing stung but it's right. Rewriting to a single question, will report back.

Two ventilation mistakes are almost universal and they are the ones that cause the damp threads. Fitting a single roof fan with no low intake, so the air has nowhere to come from, and sealing the van so thoroughly that every litre of breath and cooking steam has to condense somewhere. You want a low inlet and a high outlet and you want them before insulation, not after, because cutting holes through a finished ceiling is a horrible day.
Weight. I built in 18mm ply throughout because it felt solid, and the finished van was heavy enough that I was uncomfortable about the rear axle rating with water and two people aboard. Second build was mostly 12mm with 18mm only where things bolt through, and it is stiffer than you would think and about 90kg lighter. Find your plated weights before you design anything.
Two mechanisms are stacking against you. Direct sound drops steeply with distance while the reflected sound in the room stays roughly constant, so at sixty centimetres in a bare room you are capturing a much larger proportion of wall than of person. Then the software noise suppression tries to clean it up, and that is where the underwater, swirly quality comes from - it is not the capsule being bad, it is the processing working hard. Get closer and the processing has almost nothing to do.
So the honest way to post it is just weigh the pile I take. Do you count the stuff sack the tent lives in?
One practical change that doubled my show rate: confirm the day before with one line that names their specific problem rather than the product. Generic reminders get archived with everything else.
Check what's enforceable where you are before you pick a number. Some places cap it or have a statutory rate that's actually better than whatever you'd have invented.
Did this wrong for years. Silt annoyed me so I ground coarser and coarser, then the cup went thin, so I steeped longer to compensate, and ended up with something both weak and bitter, which I did not think was possible. The fix was going back to a medium-coarse grind, skimming, and shortening the steep. Do not use grind size to solve a filtration problem.
This is the single best decision we made too. It also means the layout gets tested by real use before the expensive parts are committed.
Disagreeing on the priority order. Symmetry comes first: if your left speaker is 40cm from a wall and your right is 2m from one, nothing else you do will fix the imbalance, and no amount of pulling the desk forward addresses it. Get the listening position symmetrical in the room, then worry about the desk and the front wall.
Couch grass and bindweed punish this specifically. Most other perennial roots do die in a heap that gets properly hot, which is why the advice sounds inconsistent.
Two foam panels is essentially no treatment. Thin foam absorbs from maybe 1kHz up, and your problem is two octaves below that. What actually works in a small bedroom is thick absorption, 10cm mineral wool panels or a stack of duvets, and you need enough of it that the room sounds noticeably dead when you clap.
This is the one. Weight comes off from technique and better gear, not from deleting the jacket.
190gsm is a winter weight for that climate. I moved to 150gsm for anything tropical and drying time roughly halved. Downside is you can see through it a bit in light colours and it will wear through at the pack strap in maybe a year.
This is the whole answer. The fitting work is a fixed cost you pay once per body and per style, not a cost per garment, and almost everyone accounts for it wrongly.
That single change is worth more than any plugin anyone will recommend in this thread.
Ask about pad cost per month before buying anything. On one of these it's a meaningful ongoing expense and it's never on the product page.
Ask three questions when you book: do you do a blower door, do you do a duct test, and do I get the raw numbers. If the answer to the last one is a nice PDF with recommendations, you are buying a sales visit.
I own the heavy setup and the light one and swap by trip. Below about 9kg loaded I stop thinking about the pack at all, which is worth real money to me. Above about 15kg my knees complain on descents for two days afterwards and I am 46. Neither number is universal, but there is a threshold for everyone and finding yours is the whole exercise.
