Also, do not lift the lid to check. Every peek costs you a chunk of heat and these machines are slow to recover. If you must check, do it once late in the cook rather than every hour out of anxiety.

Sweat is salty and it drips onto exactly the places you have listed: the stem, the top of the headset, the bolt heads, and down the head tube where it sits under the bar tape. It is not the sweating that does the damage, it is that it sits there overnight and every night for four months. The single biggest fix is a large fan, which cuts how much you sweat in the first place and evaporates the rest, and the second is wiping the bike down at the end of every session rather than at the end of the week.
Start with five sensors in your worst locations before you buy twenty of anything. Whichever protocol you pick, the honest test is a sensor on the garage door and a sensor in the far upstairs corner, sitting there for a fortnight. That answers the question for your specific walls better than any general argument will.

What worked: a genuinely lower price for a defined set of countries, applied automatically, not via a code people have to find. Somewhere around 45 to 60 percent of the US price for the markets you named. Conversion in those markets went up several multiples. Absolute revenue from them went up meaningfully, because a quarter of the conversion at full price was worse than most of the conversion at half.
What went wrong: leakage. Discount codes get posted publicly within weeks. Detection by IP catches casual cases and misses anyone with a VPN, which in developer-adjacent audiences is a lot of people. I ended up accepting maybe five percent leakage as a cost of doing business and stopped policing it.
What I got wrong for a year: no country restriction on annual plans, so people bought three years at the regional price during a trip.
If you get bitten by this, a cheap pair of binoculars held against the phone lens gets shockingly good results. It takes about twenty frustrating attempts to line up, and then you have craters.
Agreed on the tradeoff framing. My compromise is a false bottom with a thin scatter of LECA on top of the screen. Cheap, light, and you still get some of the surface area.
Practical note: check whether you can see any usage at all, even just a count of who signed in. Sitting with silence and no data is much worse than sitting with silence and knowing three people opened it. That uncertainty is doing most of the damage today, not the feedback.
