My version of this failure was banking a deficit all week so I could go enormous on Saturday, which left me starving by Thursday and eating badly on Friday. The bank never balanced because the discipline ran out before the week did. Small consistent deficit, two normal social meals, no heroics.

Did the cold soak and the water went genuinely alarming colours. Hands stayed clean all week afterwards.
I think I'm in the second camp and had absorbed rules meant for the first camp.
Numbers from my own logbook since you asked for comparison. Barbell year: added about 25kg to my squat over twelve months, pull-ups stuck at 12. Rings year: pull-ups 12 to 19 with added weight, first clean muscle-up, front lever straddle: and I lost roughly two inches off my thigh measurement.
So it's a straight trade, not a downgrade. What you gave up is loadable leg strength and the ability to add 2.5kg to something on a Tuesday. What you got is joint control and a shoulder that doesn't hurt.
Compromise that's worked well for me: three places, but weight them 6 nights, 5 nights, 3 nights instead of splitting evenly. The short one goes last so you're not carrying the tired-of-packing feeling through the whole trip.
Three quotes, discard the outlier in each direction, and pay the middle. The absolute number varies so wildly by region that anyone here quoting you their own is giving you noise. What is worth more than the price is whether he turns up when he says he will and whether he has insurance, and you can ask for evidence of the second one without any awkwardness at all.
Booked the airport hotel. Forty euros, and reading this back the maths of "save forty, arrive wrecked and lost" was never good.
listener leak, missing limit, or a robot you forgot about. instrument reads per screen before bisecting, an afternoon of logging beats three days of guessing.
Yes, and it is close to instant for clients that have not downloaded yet. Publishing a hotfix bundle also works but you are then racing the download.
Everyone does it, it feels logical. The problem is you then arrive at every hard session with tired legs and never get a real recovery day.
Give yourself something to do in the evenings that isn't socialising. I write a page about the day in a cheap notebook. Takes twenty minutes, fills the gap, and re-reading it two years later is the best souvenir I own.
Dropped to 72 and the cycle path stopped rattling my teeth out. Should have done this years ago.
Rim tape had slipped enough to expose the edge of a spoke hole. Holes were on the rim side and I'd never thought to check which face they were on. Fixed for 300km now.
The supplement is annoying but it isn't a scam. The hotel charges for the room, not the head, so the operator genuinely eats the difference. Once I understood that I stopped being irritated and started shopping for operators who absorb it as a marketing choice.
The other thing that kills the sweaty back is leaving clothes at work. I keep five shirts and a pair of shoes in a drawer and cycle in what I'd wear anyway. Suddenly the bag is a laptop and a sandwich, and at that point the backpack is fine.
