Cycle times are long and they don't get shorter, that's inherent, because the drum runs cooler. Two loads in an evening is about right. What changes is that clothes come out at a temperature you can fold immediately, and things you'd previously have line-dried only can go in without shrinking.

So it is a friction fix, not a price fix. That clears up most of my confusion. I had them filed as the same lever.
Rub chalk along the door edge and close it. The rub marks show you exactly where it is catching rather than roughly, which stops you removing material from the wrong 30cm.
The controller matters more than people budget for. An MPPT controller versus a cheap PWM one is a real difference on a panel this size, especially in weak light. Don't spend on the panel and then throttle it with a £15 box.

Used it for a year solo and it was the best money I've spent on software, then I moved in with someone and had to leave. No complaints about the product at all, it just doesn't model a household the way the cross-platform ones do.
