Is it normal for mead to have sediment?

For clearing beyond that: time does most of it, and moving the vessel somewhere cooler helps particles settle, which people call cold crashing. Fining agents like bentonite exist and work, following the product instructions.

Most makers rack once after primary slows and then again as needed while it ages. It is not a single event.
