Say it out loud at Christmas, or whenever everybody is in a room. Once a year is enough and it also catches anybody new who should know. Written down anywhere that syncs defeats the point.

The practise step is the one people skip and it is the one that makes it work. We agreed a word in a family group call last year, everyone said yes, and when I rang my father a month later and asked for it he had no idea what I was talking about.

So do the silly phone call. The word is useless if it only exists in the conversation where you invented it.
