Which plants have survived an adult crested gecko walking on them in a tank that drops to 50 percent by afternoon

Gentle disagreement with the pothos consensus, because it hides the actual problem. Pothos survives conditions that are wrong, so people plant it, see green and never fix the humidity swing. If your tank is at 50 percent by afternoon, more misting is not the fix, ventilation and substrate depth are, and once those are right a much wider plant list opens up.

Braising steak went into the cooker frozen because I forgot to defrost it, was that actually risky

I probe mine, which turned this from an argument into a measurement. With diced frozen beef and boiling stock, high for the first hour, my pot was above 70C within about ninety minutes. With a frozen roast of similar total weight the middle was still under 60C at the four hour mark, and that is the scenario the guidance is written for. Same appliance, same weight, completely different risk, and the variable is the size of the lump.

Funding letter says five years and the department's real average looks like seven, how do people cover the gap

I finished in five and the only reason was that I scoped the dissertation down hard at the end of year three, with my advisor's agreement, from something that would have been a good book to something that was a defensible thesis. Nobody outside your committee will ever read the version that would have taken seven years, and you can write the book afterwards on a salary. The students I watched go to seven and eight were almost never lazy, they were ambitious, and the project kept growing because nobody ever told them to stop.
