Where is the regular iPhone 18?
Went in to replace a phone from 2022 and came out confused. There is an 18 Pro, an 18 Pro Max and a folding one that costs more than my car did. No plain iPhone 18 anywhere, and the person in the shop was vague about it.
Is the normal one coming, and if so when? I do not want a Pro and I definitely do not want a folding phone at two thousand dollars.

Not a mistake and not a shop that has sold out. Apple split the lineup this year. The autumn event was Pro, Pro Max and the foldable Duo, plus watches and AirPods. The regular iPhone 18, the Air 2 and the budget 18e are expected in spring 2027 according to the coverage of the launch.
So there are effectively two launch seasons now: premium in the autumn, the phones most people actually buy in the spring.

Wait, if it still works. The regular 18 is months away and the 17 will likely get cheaper in the meantime, so waiting costs you nothing and gets you either a newer phone or a discounted one. Buying a Pro you do not want because the shelf is empty is the only wrong answer here.
