How big a difference did creatine actually make for you, numbers, not vibes? Creatine
Three years of lifting three times a week, 78 kg, diet is decent and I'm not in a deficit. I've never taken creatine because I assumed the effect was small and mostly water weight. A friend swears his bench went up 10 kg in two months, which sounds like a lot of other variables wearing a creatine costume. For anyone who actually tracked it, what did the numbers do, and how much stayed when you stopped?

Best summary I know of: a 2024 meta-analysis pooling 23 randomised trials found creatine plus resistance training added roughly 4-5 kg to upper-body strength measures and around 11 kg to lower-body ones, versus training alone, in adults under 50. That's a real effect and it is also not 10 kg of bench in two months from creatine by itself, your friend was three years less trained than he is now, which is doing most of the work in that story.

Lower body being the bigger number is not what I expected at all.

Some of it is just scale, squat and leg press numbers move in bigger absolute increments than bench does, so the same relative gain looks larger.
