One more thing on used 3090s specifically: check transient power draw against that 750W. Mine trips a perfectly adequate PSU on spikes unless I power-limit it to 300W, which costs about 6% of performance and solves it completely.

Two 3060s do work fine in llama.cpp with a tensor split, and if you value capacity per dollar over speed they are defensible - I ran that pair for a year. Numbers from mine: 30B class at Q4, roughly 11 tok/s split across both, versus about 26 on a single 3090 doing the same thing. Half the price, less than half the speed, twice the fan noise.
For lifting, wrist heart rate is decoration. Do not train around it, do not read anything into the calorie number it produces, and use rate of perceived exertion and the bar. Nothing worn on the wrist while gripping a bar is measuring what you want.
That distinction is the one I needed. Beans being unaffected did feel like a clue.

Make sure you are comparing generation to generation. Prompt processing on Apple silicon is fast and gets quoted a lot, because 800 tok/s of prompt ingestion sounds much better in a post than 18 tok/s of output. Both are real numbers about the same run.
That is clever, though you lose the drainage advantage if the outer pot is solid. Drill it or leave a gap at the bottom with a few stones.
Sand into a heavy soil in small amounts makes concrete, which is where the myth comes from. In a raised bed of bagged mix you do not need it. Sieve the top 20cm to get lumps out, skip fertiliser, and grow a stump-rooted variety like a Chantenay if the bed stays at 30cm.
Each shape tells you something different. Forking means the tip hit an obstruction or a lump of undecomposed compost and split around it. Stubby with a blunt end means it hit compacted soil or the bottom of the bed, so 30cm is borderline for a full Nantes and definitely too short for anything longer. Hairy with side roots is nitrogen, usually from fresh compost or that 10-10-10 you scattered. Carrots want lean, loose, evenly moist soil and no fertiliser at sowing.
