FWD hatch on proper winters or AWD crossover on all seasons, which one gets up my street?

Winters on the Golf, and it is not close. All wheel drive helps you accelerate and does absolutely nothing for stopping or steering, which are the two things that turn a bad morning into an insurance claim. Half the crossovers in the ditch every January are there because the driver felt confident going and then discovered that four driven wheels on hard compound rubber still slide at a junction.

What's the earliest date this could be in front of a stranger, and how do you find that date honestly?

My actual numbers across three projects: estimated six weeks, took nineteen. Estimated three months, took seven. Third one I committed to a demo date five weeks out in front of people, cut roughly half the planned features, and shipped on the day. The multiplier on my own estimates is somewhere near three, consistently, and I've stopped trying to become a better estimator - I now assume the three and choose what to cut in advance rather than discovering it in month five.
