There is a used Sleep Number bed near me at about a third of retail and I am tempted, but I do not want an account, an app, or a bed that phones anywhere. What I want to know from owners is whether the firmness actually…
Shipping app, real users, revenue that matters to me. Everything else in the dependency list looks fine. The blocker is a bluetooth library whose readme says new architecture is not supported. It is the core of the…
Small flat, one desk, and realistically I'd stand twice a day rather than every hour. TROTTEN is the crank one, MITTZON is the electric one, and the gap between them is real money for me. The complication: I'm 1.68 m…
$2.1k MRR, both stores, one developer. The vendor cut is about $21 a month today, which is nothing, but it scales with revenue and I keep running the number at $20k MRR and flinching. I have written receipt validation…
Net 30 invoice, now 45 days past due, so 75 days since delivery. My contact is friendly and responsive and keeps saying he has passed it to accounting and will chase. Three times now. The work is live on their site. I…
Same server, same registration code. Over stdio the client lists all 12 tools and they work. Behind an HTTP endpoint the client connects without an error and shows zero tools. What I can see server side: the request…
Push mower, single cylinder, about eight years old, sat over winter with fuel in it. It fires instantly on full choke, runs beautifully for maybe thirty seconds, then dies unless I keep the choke roughly halfway. There…
I buy two coffees a day at about £3.20 each, so roughly £1,500 a year, which is the argument everyone makes for buying a machine. The counter argument is that the café makes better coffee than I will, I walk past it…
Every morning the garage motion sensor shows as unavailable and I have to walk out and press the button to rejoin it. It works perfectly all day. The garage is about 12 metres from the coordinator with one brick wall in…
Six days into a three week trip and I've eaten in a restaurant by myself exactly once. Every evening I tell myself I'll go out, then it gets to 7pm and I buy bread and cheese and eat it on my bunk. It isn't fear…
says 1.42 GB for a fairly ordinary Express + Prisma API. I build locally and push to a private registry over home internet, so every deploy is a coffee break. Dockerfile is basically: I know this is bad. I don't know…
B550 board, 3070, 750W unit, all of it about eight months old. If the machine has been off overnight the fans spin up, the debug LED parks on VGA and there's no signal on any port. A restart from that state doesn't…
Three weeks of travel, a lot of it on trains and in places with no signal, and I am carrying one small bag so weight matters. I read maybe an hour a day normally but on trips it goes up to three or four. The appeal of a…
Hit a cap twice this week on two different assistants, and neither told me how long I had to wait or how many I had left before it happened. One let me back in after what felt like a couple of hours, the other seemed to…
0.025% cream, three nights a week, on dry skin twenty minutes after cleansing. The flaking never settles. By morning there are dry patches along both cheekbones that catch every foundation I own. Everything I read says…
PCB mount screw in stabs, 6.25u spacebar. I have dielectric grease on the wire ends and in the housings, band aid mod on the plate, and the wire is bent as evenly as I can get it by eye. Left side is silent. Right side…
Every candle I pour develops a cavity around the wick as it sets. I have tried a relief pour with wax at 60C, poking holes with a skewer before it sets, and going over the top with a heat gun. The top looks perfect and…
Linear ish program, three sessions a week. Squat has gone from 100 to 122kg in that time, deadlift is moving, and bench has been 80kg for five reps since March. I've tried adding a fourth bench day, then dropping to…
I have inside an async function and logging gives me a Promise object instead of the user. Inside I do and I am fairly sure the endpoint works because the network tab shows a 200 with JSON. Where is the extra promise…
Tomato and basil seedlings under a two tube shop light hung about 30cm above the tray, on 14 hours a day. They germinate well, then within four days the stems stretch to nearly 5cm before the first true leaves appear…
Video course platform, small. About 8TB/month goes out to viewers and growing maybe 15% a month. Total infrastructure budget is $400 and right now egress alone would eat all of it on the setup I have. Currently…
German kitchen knife, sharpened on 1000 and 3000 waterstones. Straight off the stones it pops hairs and slices paper cleanly. After dicing two onions and a butternut squash it will not bite a tomato skin. That is maybe…
Collaborative editor. Expect up to 500 rooms active at once, 2 to 20 people each, WebSockets, and the document state per room is small tens of kilobytes. I keep going back and forth. One DO per room feels like the…
I post a short update every Friday and about six weeks ago I put up a roadmap page with six things on it, in order, with rough months attached. Nine days later a competitor I had never heard of launched with four of…
My father in law left a biscuit tin with about forty packets in it, kept in a dry but unheated shed, so it has gone from freezing to properly warm and back every year. Onion, leek, parsnip, tomato, courgette, brassicas,…
